Building competent organizations

Programs which provide lasting social benefits require strong, competent organizations to sustain, improve and adpat programmes to changing circumstances. Interventions that enhance and strengthen widespread meaningful participation of community residents in solving problems are more likely to be effective and sustainable. Community-based organizations and strong public policy research institutions are the primary organizational intermediaries for such work.
