Avoiding damaging food and drink
Implementation
According to a review of 27 studies involving more than 30,000 healthy adults, a diet low in fat reduced deaths caused by heart disease by 9% and cut heart attacks and strokes by 16% (although it did not appear to reduce the risk of dying from other causes). Individuals at high and low risk of heart disease appeared to benefit equally from following a healthy diet. However, the evidence of benefits of a healthy diet on a person's heart disease risk could take at least two years to show.
