Restriction of abortion

  • Lack of abortion facilities

Incidence

About 82% of the counties in the USA had no abortion facilities in 1985. Few doctors are willing to perform the procedure due to rural tendency towards conservatism and the growing aggressiveness of anti-abortion protests.

Claim

In 1990, the French-developer of the pill RU468 which induces abortion, claims WHO approval and world markets are restricted by USA government opposition influenced by the anti-abortion lobby. Whilst the pill is available in France, with Scandinavia and the Netherlands next, negotiations have been neglected with other interested countries, particularly Russia and China.
