With almost daily changes in international politics and economics, foreign investments are particularly vulnerable. Some of the richest markets are in the least stable parts of the world, and given the vulnerable state of world economy, the number of territorial disputes, the extent of terrorist activities, and present conditions of foreign credit, political risk has become a major factor in determining where to or where not to locate transnational corporations, to invest and to make loans.
