Lack of facilities for educating older people

Nature

Older people are not equipped with the skills, education and models to participate creatively in the present-day societal process; and facilities for them to be educated in such skills are not available. They need such education in order to be free to create their own roles in the current societal framework and regain a viable self-image and a sense of responsibility to society. Nonexistent educational means for elders thus impedes the possibility of their reappropriating selfhood.
