Inhumane interrogation techniques

Nature

Although in violation of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, inhumane interrogation techniques are presently carried out in many countries, both developed and developing. Coercive techniques are often carried out under official orders, and may include: sleep and food deprivation; drug induced confessions; sexual abuse including rape; disorientation techniques (e.g. white noise); sensory deprivation (e.g. "hooding"); and the infliction of physical pain, often by advanced technological methods which leave no marks as evidence.

Incidence

Inhumane interrogation has been reported in a number of countries.
