Induction of incongruent actions

Nature

Induction of incongruent actions are methods of torture which bring victims into situations of impossible choices and consequently to act or react against their ideology and ethics and is central to all forms of psychological torture. The stated goal of such methods is usually gaining information but in fact the usual goal is destroying the personality of the victim. Methods may be slow and progressive. When the victim does break down he enters a vicious circle of guilt followed by repentance, which cannot be expiated.
