Inadequate protection of war correspondents

Nature

Inadequate provisions may be made for safeguarding the security of war correspondents and for their access to information. War correspondents risk death and injury, but may also be interned as prisoners of war and political prisoners and subjected to torture, brainwashing and other injustices. This may serve to restrict available information and to mask war crimes and other atrocities: propaganda may be substituted for faithful reporting.
