Familism

Nature

A specific form of race, age, or gender insensitivity whereby an action or experience is erroneously attributed to a family or household when in fact that action is carried out (or the event is differently experienced) by the individual within the social unit. It may assume that parents agree on issues, or that family income is used for the equal benefit of all.
