Disruption of human activities by supernatural entities

In many countries (as in Scandinavia, but also in non-western countries) with a continuing folk tradition recognizing the existence of supernatural entities inhabiting particular physical objects, particular care must often be taken in planning new construction work in order not to disrupt such habitats. This may imply costly relocation of roads and buildings.
