Disharmony of Wind in the body

  • Wind pernicious influence on health

Nature

Wind is one of the six pernicious influences on the health of the body, usually accompanied by, and facilitating, the action of other influences such as Cold or Dampness. It is associated with movement and is therefore recognized in terms of pains (itchings, eruptions) that move from place to place around the body. As an external influence, it is often accompanied by fever, fear of draughts, sweating, blocked nasal passages, sudden headaches, or sore throat. External Wind often resembles what Western medicine describes as the onset of an infectious or contagious disease. As an internal influence it usually accompanies chronic disharmony, notably in relation to the Liver. Other symptoms are characteristic of irregular and trembling movement, eg tremors or dizziness; they manifest on the upper and outer parts of the body, particularly the face, skin, sweat glands and lungs.

Incidence

Excess Wind in the body affecting the Liver induces erratic behaviour, uneven emotions or uncoordinated movement.
