Dehumanized individual scientific research

The scientific community has become insulated from the demands of society through its emphasis on specific research, whose results are often unrelated to life's basic problems. Theoretical and abstract research particularly reflect the lack of consciousness of the role of the scientific community in the social process, acting in response to the priorities of the select few rather than to the needs of society as a whole.
