Wonder-filled fate (ICA)

Description

This the experience that everything, back to the big bang creating the universe, is one's own personal history, as though all of the past conspired to bring this moment to be; when one participates in an event which brings an overwhelming sense of wonder about the past. It may be compared to the opening scene of "2001, A Space Odyssey", in relation to the whole movie.

Context

In the ICA New Religious Mode in the arena of standing present to the mystery of being in life (the life of contemplation) the second formal aspect is the experience of fearful never-again-ness or of archaism. At the first phenomenological level this occurs when a person encounters a completely mysterious event.
