Ways to spiritual realization (Esotericism)

In Western esotericism there is a tradition of seven distinct ways to spiritual realization. Each person is understood to be pursuing one or more of these ways over any particular period and in so doing the ways manifest in the person as characteristic different aspects of their being. Most people are considered to be influenced by the way with which their personality is associated and by that with which their soul is associated. The ways or rays are also associated with numbers: (1) Will or power; (2) Love-wisdom; (3) Active intelligence; (4) Beauty or harmony; (5) Knowledge or science; (6) Devotion or idealism; (7) Ritual or organization.
