Vasana (Yoga)

This is a particular kind of psychical disposition or emotional complex. It is the universal power which drives the mind, producing the series of transformations which imprison consciousness. It is the principle of desire in its widest sense, and the karma or tendencies which this desire produces, cause and effect intermingled.
