Unity consciousness
- Transcendental unity consciousness
- God consciousness supreme
- Seventh state (Yoga)
Description
Unity consciousness is said to evolve naturally out of god consciousness with given time. Its characteristic is the extinction of observer/observed-duality into uninterrupted unity of self and all objects of perception and action. This unified consciousness is seen as the potential normative level of consciousness for mankind. A state of self-referral and self-interacting identical to the self-interacting dynamics of the unified field of all the laws of nature as discovered by quantum field theories of modern physics.
Context
The highest state of consciousness in the series enunciated by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, achieved through the practice of transcendental meditation. Such a state is said to enable the individual to lead his daily life fully supported by natural law. Unity consciousness has been theorized as normative for all subjective experience; that is, experiences in unity consciousness all share the same objective certainty and precision within the realm of subjectivity. The notions of reality, knowledge and continuity of perception are clarifiable only in this state beyond all dualities. Scientific evidence of this state is the whole idea of science itself. Strong similarities with conceptions and descriptions of states of unity consciousness appear in most traditions, e.g. in mysticism.
