Salat (Islam)

This worship consisting of a sequence of utterances and actions is repeated five times a day. Although exact performance may vary between different schools, proper observance of salat is required duty and the basic essentials are the same throughout Islam. It symbolizes submission or surrender to God and is the essence of Islam.
