Resurrectional existence (ICA)

Description

This is an experience of having been crucified, having been called from the comfort of the tomb to continue as a radically transformed human being. Such an individual carries with him the pain of all mankind; it is as though he walked through impenetrable barriers in this world for he lives another life, unblocked and unfettered by circumstances. It may be compared to Scrooge in Charles Dickens' story "A Christmas Carol" when, after he has been visited by the ghosts, he is transformed into a new man; or to Marilyn Monroe's comment in an interview following her marriage to Arthur Miller, that she would live her life exactly the same again if that was what it would take to bring her to this moment.

A dimension of this experience is a sense of awe, that is fear and fascination. Pain and joy are neither painful nor joyful but simply part of the unity of experience. There is fear of living in this world but one is driven to fulfil one's life, knowing that life and death are in God's hands. The fascination is that Being just never goes away. One has to decide to come back to this world or to embrace life after having given it up. There is a new sense of the vitality; one wants to bring others to this state.
