Psychic ontogeny

Description

This refers to the development of the mind, particularly in relating inner needs with environmental demands. It is said to include object relationship development (autoerotic - narcissistic - homoerotic - heteroerotic - alloerotic); libidinal phases corresponding to vicissitudes of the drives (pre-superego sexuality: oral; anal; phallic - latency - genitality); and the development of mechanisms to achieve these.
