Promissorial offering (ICA)

Description

This is experienced as the final commitment of one's life to fulfil and accomplish the deed that is worth giving one's life and death for. It occurs when the individual sees that accomplishing his vision is going to take his whole life, as when Dietrich Bonhoffer decided to participate in the anti-Hitler movement in Germany during World War II.

Context

In the ICA New Religious Mode in the arena of acting out one's freedom (the life of prayer) the fourth formal aspect is one's experience of universal responsibility or intercession. As the fourth phenomenological level when one knows that one's whole life is inescapably bound in this struggle.
