Out-of-body experience (Psychism)
Description
Many religions refer to the ecstatic state as occurring in some other place or time, the practitioner cultivating the ability to move out of the physical body which is confined by space-time constraints, and reaching an extraordinary state or communing with spirits in some other time or environment. In terms of psychism, it is said that the individual leaves the physical body and floats invisible to others; the out-of-body experience occurs during sleep or at will, the soul remaining attached to the body by a "silver cord".
