Description
This is the state of the [great awakening]
achieved by a solitary person who has achieved insight into the causally continuous doctrine of being through the twelve [nidana]
and achieved enlightenment without having had the aid of a Buddha or without having had access to Buddhist teachings in his last lifetime. The vehicle is known as [pratyekayana]
and leads to a state somewhere between that of an [arhat]
and that of a [bodhisattva]
