Manifestation of the essence through veils (Sufism)

The essence has, in itself, no name or attribute, no relationship or proportion. The Self, whose light is hidden in manifestation, is manifest by drawing veils in front of him. As the sun is seen more clearly through a veil of cloud, so the essence manifests through different veils. In these different manifestations, resemblances and relationships are multiplied.
