Malik-ul-Mulk (Sufism)

Description

The believer is aware of Allah as the eternal owner of his kingdom, sharing sovereignty with no-one. The whole universe is connected in one totality, one kingdom; so is man, a microcosm of the great whole. If man rules his temporal kingdom as a servant of Allah he will be rewarded with the eternal kingdom of hereafter. If he is a servant of his own ego, however, he will be bankrupt and imprisoned in hell.

Context

A mode of mystical awareness in the Sufi tradition associated with the eighty-fourth of the ninety-nine names of Allah.
