Magical thinking
Description
A primitive or archaic type of thinking, pre-logical and (in the schizophrenic) a symbolic equivalent of action. Such thinking may be a symptom of fatigue or neurosis, and also occurs in early childhood and amongst people of primitive cultures. The individual allows for relationships between things which are not observable in fact and, by mystical participation or simply wishing, attempts to alter the course of events.
