Levitational submission (ICA)

Description

This is experienced as voluntarily being driven by the direction which history is demanding, as when Teresa of Avila describes the Lord as "burning away" superficial cares and desires. It occurs when one's only desire is to participate unreservedly in life's creative process.

Context

In the ICA New Religious Mode in the arena of acting out one's freedom (the life of prayer) the third formal aspect is surrender to one's unlimited inadequacy, or petition. At the fourth phenomenological level this occurs when one knows that one's whole life is inescapably bound in this struggle.
