Journeying within transcendence - from outside to inside
Description
The pen in which the sheep are locked is likened to the defensive structures built up in self protection; it may once have helped in adaptation to life but eventually stands in the way of further growth. The wolf is the appetites, demanding more and more. The doorway to freedom, opening on the threshold of the future, bridging conscious to unconscious, is approached through the dreams which are the break in the defence mechanism, to where one can know and be known.
Context
The twelfth section of St John's Gospel, Chapter X 1-41, is related to a stage in the spiritual journey of the individual.
