Formation of demerit (Buddhism)

Description

In Hinayana Buddhism, the unprofitable or immoral volitions of the sense sphere are conditions, as karma condition or decisive-support condition, for unprofitable resultant consciousnesses of the different kinds of rebirth linking and in the course of an existence in the sense sphere and the fine-material sphere. The Path of Purification details exactly how each unprofitable consciousness results in the appropriate resultant consciousness, both for unhappy and for happy destinies. Even Brahmas see, hear etc undesirable sights, sounds, etc, in the sense sphere although there are no such undesirable data in the Brahma world itself.
