Evolutionary choice

Description

Hannah Newcombe indicates that the design for a better world should be dynamic rather than static, dealing ideally not with a final state but with a process. It would not be a single design - at various points there will be several alternatives or a continuous range of alternatives. Problems may often be solved in a number of almost equally good ways. Choice opens the way to future negotiations among decision-makers. The decision does not have to be made once and for all and for all time. Since human institutions are only the creation of human beings they should not be endowed with quasi-divine powers and worshipped as sanctified by tradition. They should be changed as often as is desired to suit evolving needs.
