Euphoria
- High
Description
This exaggerated feeling of elation and well-being, although usually transient, is sought by numbers of people to the extent of risking their physical and mental health through use of various kinds of drug. It is incongruous with the individual's external or internal reality, and is frequently an attempt to regain joyful or happy experience which no longer arises naturally. A related drawback is that feelings of euphoria are frequently followed by dysphoria. Commonly held moral views that pleasure has to be paid for mean that socio-ethical issues are involved, even supposing a non-toxic, easily available stimulant could be found.
