Description

A positive state of inquiry which is paralleled by deep faith – dai-shinkon, this is contrasted with mere passive scepticism.

Context

One of the three pillars of the practice zen, the others being dai-shinkon and dai-funshi. Together with dai-shinkon, an essential component of hotsu-bodaishin, the firm resolve to achieve buddhahood.
