Description
The meditator in this stage is able to stabilize the mind so that it stays on the object longer than in the first stage, by forcibly returning attention again and again to the object of contemplation. The associated power in this state is thinking.

This is the second of the nine states of mental abiding (navakara chittasthiti) in Gelugpa Tibetan Buddhism.
