Classical story (ICA)

Description

This is experienced when you discover that your unique, unrepeatable life experiences are the same things that others have talked about in their lives; that the deeps of your own life are revealed in and through the stories of the lives of other people. An example is Ahab's story about the whale which is shaping his life, in the book "Moby Dick".

Context

In the ICA New Religious Mode in the arena of articulating the word about life (the life of knowing) the third formal aspect is one's experience of contentless transformation or the greatness of the word. At the third phenomenological level this occurs when a person knows the authenticity of a life-interpreting and life-giving story.
