Born-again (Christianity)

base their spiritual rebirth on Christ's admonition (St John III 3), "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God". Through repentance and faith, the individual makes a personal commitment to Christ and receives an experience of assurance imparted by the Holy Spirit. The spiritual renewal obtained signifies a new beginning so radical it can be thought of as a rebirth, a complete change of direction in life comparable with the command "about turn".
