Description

The name of a traveller on the tariqa or Sufi spiritual path at the level of a gnostic to whom spiritual knowledge is revealed because of the illumination of his soul. Spiritual practice has lead to inner transformation, he is pure and detached from worldly desires. His soul is joyful in the revelation of God in His divine glory, known with such clarity that it cannot be doubted. At this stage the individual is no longer in himself. He himself has no knowledge, hearing or sight. His existence is in God, his actions held by God, God is his ear through which he hears, his eyes through which he sees. He is conscious of no form of otherness. He is taken to the mystic stage of fana.
