Al-Akhir (Sufism)

Description

The believer is aware of Allah as the last, having no beginning and no end, nothing can be compared with him, when nothing else exists He will still exist. The cycle of existence begins and ends in Him and to Him all things return. Al-Awwal and al-Akhir, the first and the last, are considered together, they are like a circle in which the first and last are one. All the believer is and has is His and will return to Him. It has been lent to him and he will have to account for their use.

Context

A mode of mystical awareness in the Sufi tradition associated with the seventy-fourth of the ninety-nine names of Allah.
