Actual grace (Christianity)
Description
According to Catholic doctrine, this is supernatural help from God by means of which one's mind is enlightened and one's will strengthened to do good and avoid evil. Without actual grace, those who have obtained the use of reason cannot for long resist the power of temptation or perform actions which merit a reward in heaven. However, because of free will, one is not forced by God to accept His grace.
