Using workgroup computing
- Employing computer groupware
- Computer supported cooperative working
- Developing collaboration technology
Context
Groupware is an umbrella term used to describe the electronic technologies that support person-to-person collaboration. Groupware includes e-mail, electronic meeting systems (EMS) and desktop video conferencing (DVC) systems. Technologies which support collaboration are in demand because vendors are integrating collaboration technologies into their products. Distributed workforces, information overload, and getting products to market as quickly as possible are motivating collaboration technology development.
