Using construction inspectors
Context
The construction inspector is an integral part of the construction process serving the lender, contractor and owner. The responsibility of the construction inspector is to ensure that the contractor will be paid in a timely manner for work completed, assure the owner of sufficient funds to finish the project in line with the construction agreement, and assure the lender that they have been diligent in monitoring the loan. Properly trained construction inspectors not only verify the percent completion of a construction project, but they also provide other necessary services, such as following up on lien wavers and reviewing construction bids to make sure the costs are realistic.
