Training in parenting for adolescents
Implementation
SERVOL (Service Volunteered for All, Trinidad and Tobago) has an adolescent parenting programme designed to make juveniles aware of the responsibilities involved in bringing children into the world and caring for them in an enlightened fashion. Youths are guided to form relationships with small children (through spending time in the day nursery, working for, feeding and playing with babies and toddlers). Even though the project seems to be focusing on changing the adolescents or the children, the hidden agenda is to change the parents, both actual and potential. The ultimate goal is the improvement of the quality of care and attention of parents.
