Studying causes of urban poverty
- Researching effects of urban poverty
Description
Urban poverty is a growing problem in both the Global North and the Global South. In many respects the problem has been overlooked by development agencies and governments because of the contradictions of poverty existing in areas of concentrated resources (employment, money, materials). Thus the study of urban poverty as opposed to rural poverty often has to contend with this contradiction and seek new terms of reference for analysing the problem.
