  • Strengthening technological know-how on sustainable development in international agencies

Implementation

This strategy features in the framework of Agenda 21 as formulated at UNCED (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), now coordinated by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and implemented through national and local authorities. Agenda 21 recommends strengthening science and technology advice to the highest levels of the UN, and other international institutions, in order to ensure the inclusion of science and technology know-how in sustainable development policies and strategies.
