Strengthening the family to prevent alcoholism
Implementation
Families Anonymous (FA) is a fellowship of relatives and friends of people in trouble with drugs, alcohol or related behavioural problems. It is a self-help organization with a programme based on the 12 Steps and the 12 Traditions first formulated by Alcoholics Anonymous. FA focuses on the member's recovery (or change in attitudes and reactions) from co-dependency, denial, enabling, rescuing, and controlling and manipulating. Members provide mutual support and offer a forum where experiences and anxiety can be shared.
