Recycling materials containing heavy metals
Implementation
IKEA is eliminating lead, cadmium, and chrome from their products and using recycled or recyclable metals wherever possible in their products. To help create a flow balance to offset the mercury in their low-energy light bulbs, IKEA is taking back used fluorescent light bulbs and recycling them in order to capture the mercury they contain and keep it from going to landfills.
