Context
Most of the world's 6000 forms of speech are lesser used languages that are endangered to the point that only 300 spoken languages or so may remain in a hundred years or so. Apart from trying to prevent this tragic linguistic attrition, it is suggested that those languages and dialects that are greatly endangered be sound recorded and deposited in "language and dialect banks" in order to preserve them for humanity before they may be are lost forever.
