Promoting globalization

1. The process of globalization cannot be stopped as it was not started by the IMF or the WTO, but resulted from business activities taking full advantage of the development of science and technology. Thus, as it is an irreversible trend, countries have no choice but to maximize its benefits and to minimize its adverse effects. In order to respond successfully to the globalization challenge, policy prescriptions need to be sought at three levels - national, regional and global.
