Preventing smuggling of cigarettes

In 1998, in cooperation with several national authorities the European Commission persuaded the principality of Andorra to amend its laws in order to prevent cigarettes to be smuggled into the European Union. This should add 75 million euro to the EU budget and some 300 million euro to the budgets of the member states.
