Preventing impacts of ultraviolet radiation

Implementation

This strategy features in the framework of Agenda 21 as formulated at UNCED (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), now coordinated by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and implemented through national and local authorities.

Agenda 21 recommends that states and international organizations should consider taking appropriate remedial measures in the fields of human health, agriculture and the marine environment, based on results of research on the effect of additional ultraviolet radiation reaching the Earth's surface.
