KABUL, Jan 17, 2000 -- (Agence France Presse) Afghanistan's ruling Taliban militia Monday called on the Muslim world to join Kabul in opening diplomatic relations with the rebel government in Chechnya. Taliban Minister of Information Qudratullah Jamal said: "It is the obligation of all Muslims to recognize the Chechen government, which is a big support and cooperation for them," he told reporters in Kabul. "We should always cooperate with Muslims, particularly those who demand this cooperation to enable them to live in Islam and freedom," the minister said.
