Integrating sustainable development in curricula of business, industrial and agricultural schools
Implementation
This strategy features in the framework of Agenda 21 as formulated at UNCED (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), now coordinated by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and implemented through national and local authorities.
Agenda 21 recommends that educational authorities and industry should encourage business, industrial and agricultural schools to include environment and development topics in their curricula. Programmes at a post-graduate level should include specific courses aiming at the further training of decision makers.
